Georgiana Caminati

Georgiana Marie (Maly) Caminati, age 83, passed away peacefully in the early morning of September 14, 2025. Georgie was born on October 10th, 1941, to Lillian Pearl (Schaeffer) Maly and Charles Frank Maly. She grew up in the small town of Hadlyme, CT with five brothers and 2 sisters. When she was 15, Georgie met Ron Caminati from Chester at the Hamburg Fair and fell in love. They married on February 11, 1961, and moved to the family farm on Petticoat Lane in East Haddam. They were married for 62 years until his passing on October 31, 2023. Georgie was a fantastic cook and baker who relished sharing her food with her family and friends. Her peach dumplings and blueberry buckle were fan favorites as well as her lasagna. She was a devoted mom to Pamela Walsh, Sandra (Ron) Bamber, Ronald (Kim) Caminati Jr. and Julianne Caminati. Georgie was predeceased by 1 daughter, Michelle Caminati and 4 brothers; Richard, Larry, Vic and Bob Maly and is survived by 1 brother Tom Maly and 2 sisters Judy Trotochaud and Louise Tignor. Georgie was a loving Gramma to 11 grand and great grandchildren; E.J., Patrick, Rebekah, Joshua, Jordan, Angelina, Olivia, Haley, Abigail, Liam and Dakota. She was also a thoughtful Cousin, Aunt and Friend to so many that were important to her. Georgie opened her home and heart to invite all to visit and spend time on the family farm to appreciate the beautiful gardens and enjoy great food. She loved sharing family and local history and telling stories of those that came before her, keeping their spirit alive in her home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook from 11am-1pm. A service will be shared in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the First Church Cemetery 499 Town St, Route 151 East Haddam, CT. 06423.
