I am sorry to tell you that I died on November 10, 2025.
I was born to Aurore and Webster Zinck in Worcester, Massachusetts. There I lived with my parents, my sister Joan and brother Stanley.
I graduated from, what was then, Worcester State College in 1963; and began my lifetime career as an educator. I moved to Hartford in 1964 and joined the Hartford Public School System as a teacher of secondary mathematics.
A fellow teacher in my school arranged a blind date with his girlfriend’s sister; and it was through this meeting that I met my wife to be, Carolyn Sitaro. I knew from our first meeting that Carol was special and that someday we would marry. And that we did on August 6, 1966 in Saint Peter’s Church on Main Street in Hartford. Her parents, John and Rose Sitaro gave us a wonderful reception at the Wonder Bar. Her sister, Frances Lawrence, her husband Joseph, as well as Carol’s brother Thomas, as well as friends and other family members, joined us in our celebration.
We were blessed with two daughters, Theresa and Jeannine. My small family of three girls became the center of my world, and everything I did revolved around them.
Need I say that there were some wonderful times, and some challenges in living with three females; but all-in-all, I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!! Although we were not wealthy in material things, we were rich in love. I always said: “There is nothing that I need that I do not have; but there is much that I have that I do not need.”
Some years later, Theresa married Joseph Lederer and Jeannine married Tony Leone; and Carol and I now had two sons to love. We were a family of six; but two more were to be added. Jeannine and Tony’s children, Michael and Aurora. They brought a new kind of love into our hearts. I believe you know what I mean. Leaving them will hurt very much!
The photo above was taken at the time of our 50th wedding anniversary. I may not have a big smile on my face; but I assure you that I was HAPPY! I have always enjoyed being close to Carol. She is the love of my life!!!!
I hope you understand that there will not be any calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John’s Church (St. Pio Parish) in Old Saybrook on Friday, November 14th at 11:00 a.m.
I hope that day will be one that you will enjoy with your family.
God Bless us!!!!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Pio Parish Lazarus Fund or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
