

Guy Gregory French, 64, of Connecticut, passed away on March 17, 2026. Born on May 19, 1961, in New Jersey, Guy lived a life filled with laughter, hard work, loyalty, and love for his family and friends. One of eight siblings, Guy grew up surrounded by family and carried that same sense of connection and togetherness throughout his life. He had a personality that naturally brought people together and never missed an opportunity to enjoy time with the people he loved most. Guy proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Snook (SSN-592) for three years. His time in the Navy was something he carried with pride throughout his life. After his military service, Guy built a long career in the automotive industry, working at many car dealerships over the years. Known for his strong work ethic and gift for conversation, he connected easily with coworkers and customers alike. Before retiring, he ended his career at Saybrook Ford in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. Outside of work, Guy truly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved grilling season and was happiest surrounded by family and friends at all his parties, cooking food, telling stories, and making people laugh. He was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Boston Red Sox, cheering passionately through every season. Above all else, Guy loved his family deeply. He is survived by his mother, Arden French; six of his siblings; his daughter, Cassidy Seip, and her husband, Elas Seip, of Maine; his daughter, Amanda French, and her partner, Patrick Ward; and his cherished granddaughter of Connecticut, who brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind extended family members many lifelong friends who will miss his humor, generosity, and unforgettable presence. Guy will be remembered for his big heart, his loyalty to the people he loved, and his ability to make any gathering feel like home. His memory will live on in the stories shared around grills, in football Sundays, and in the hearts of everyone lucky enough to know him.
A celebration of Guy’s life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the American Legion in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor, remember, and celebrate his life together.
