John Patrick Harrington, 89, of Niantic, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025 in Middlesex Hospital. Born on October 10, 1936 in Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland to Jeremiah and Bridget (O'Shea) Harrington. John worked at Motts/Shoprite and retired after 58 years as a meat manager. He was a Lifetime Member of the Irish American Home in Glastonbury as well as being the President, Chairman of the Board and Parade Grand Marshall of the Hartford St. Patrick's Day Parade. John also served 6 years with the Connecticut National Guard and was Honorably Discharged as a Marksman and Staff Sergeant. He is predeceased by his brothers and sisters Ann, Mary, Denis, Jere and Daniel as well as many other nieces and nephews in Ireland. John is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Camille (Basso) Harrington and Mollie his cat as well as many nieces and nephews here in the United States .
