

CARRANO, Marc Anthony, age 59, of Norwich, entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 7, 2026, at his residence, after a two-and-a-half-year battle with Glioblastoma, a Grade IV brain cancer.
Born in New London on September 23, 1966, he was raised in Centerbrook, Connecticut, and was the son of Anthony Carrano and Mary Jane Carrano. Marc was a United States Navy veteran. He worked as a Citrix Engineer contracted to Pfizer before transitioning to information technology at Mitchell College in New London, where he worked until his diagnosis. In his free time, Marc was an avid gamer, a trait he passed down to his two kids. He was a resident of Norwich for the latter half of his life and was devoted to his family, friends, and community.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Amanda Carrano of Norwich; his son, Nicholas Carrano of Norwich and his fiancée, Stephanie Ramos of New Bedford, Massachusetts; his daughter, Morgan Carrano of Norwich; his father, Anthony Carrano, and his wife, Martha Jove-Carrano of Essex; his sister, Beth Ann Grant and her partner, Todd Evarts of Essex; nieces and nephews, extended family members, and a multitude of friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Jane Carrano, and his brother-in-law, Craig Grant.
The Carrano family would like to extend an immense thank you to the Masonicare Hospice nurses and aids who worked closely with Marc during his final journey. Their kindness and dedication brought comfort during an extreme time and will never be forgotten.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11am at Our Lady of Sorrows (St. Teresa of Calcutta), 14 Prospect St., Essex, CT. A reception will follow. In the final weeks before his passing, Marc spoke his last words, telling his wife, Amanda, “I love you.”
