

Marcos Gonzalez of Deep River passed away on Wednesday, August 19 at the age of 35. He was born on April 18, 1991, in Fort Gordon, Georgia. He spent much of his childhood in northern Florida, where he developed his passion for the outdoors, his talent for storytelling, and his ability to connect with everyone around him.
He graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 2013. In 2012, while on leave from the Academy, he met the love of his life, Rachel. After serving in the Coast Guard, Marcos earned his Master’s Degree at UMass Amherst before working as a regional planner. He was a loving father to his son Gabriel, and shared with him many hours of exploring the outdoors, as well as an enthusiasm for learning about all sorts of topics, from dinosaurs and prehistoric beasts to how vehicles work and Star Wars.
Marcos had many, many hobbies. Whether it was skiing, running in The Preserve, or working on projects in the home he shared with Rachel and Gabriel, he always stayed busy. He loved sharing his many hobbies with his many friends.
He is survived by his wife Rachel, son Gabriel, mother Paula (Tommy) Burgin, sister Marisa Gonzalez, brother Paul (Jessica) Gonzalez and nephews Lucas and Felix, father William Gonzalez, sister-in-law Lauren (Travis) Collins and niece Lily, mother-in-law Patricia Bisacky, father-in-law Albert Bisacky, and many loving friends and family members.
