

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Margaret was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Margarite (DeLuca) Morra of Providence and North Kingstown, Rhode Island. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald G. Picard, with whom she shared 62 wonderful years of marriage.
Margaret, lovingly known as “Dolly,” was the devoted mother to Julie Carroza (Mark) of Essex, Connecticut and Renee Picard Walsh (Michael Walsh) of Essex, Connecticut and Boston, Massachusetts. Dolly was a fun-loving and cherished grandmother to Michael and Julia Carroza and Michael Hutchison Walsh.
Margaret was predeceased by her sisters, Madeline MacLellan and Carol St. Pierre, and her seven brothers—Lawrence, Frank, Anthony, Louis, William, Paul, and Michael Morra—who affectionately gave her the nickname “Dolly,” as the next girl born after them.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Edith Picard of Westbrook, Connecticut, Lois Picard of Hope Valley, Rhode Island, Jeanne Morra of North Kingstown, Rhode Island as well as her treasured nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Dolly was loved by all who knew her; she had a warmth and spirit that touched everyone she met. A graduate of Mount Ida College, she worked at Kelley & Persern in Providence, Rhode Island. It wasn’t long before she met the love of her life, and together they built a life full of deep, undeniable love and devotion.
Dolly excelled at making a warm and inviting home for Donald and their daughters. She cherished time with extended family especially holidays at Devil's Foot or summer days on the beach in Westerly, she always sparkled.
In her free time, Dolly was an exercise enthusiast, an incredible cook, a devoted volunteer to many organizations, the friendliest neighbor, a loyal friend, and an involved, loving aunt. Her kindness, energy, and unwavering support touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
