It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Mazzola Hoynack of Killingworth Connecticut, age 71, who died peacefully on February 1, 2025. Marie passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with ovarian cancer.
Marie was a shining light in the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband Paul, her son Eric, and daughter in law Christina. She will live on in the memory of her mother Anne, sisters Judy, Angela, Denise, Lisa and her brothers Dominic, David, and Paul.
Marie was born in Newton Massachusetts on February 15th of 1953 to Anne and Dannise Mazzola, the second of eight siblings. Her professional career included working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and then as a paralegal in Boston. She married her husband Paul in 1986, and they moved to Connecticut where she worked for Timex. After the birth of their son Eric in 1989, she spent many years working in the elementary school in their hometown of Killingworth, and although later she retired, she continued to work at Carten Controls until her passing. She loved to travel, and she saw the world with her family and friends. The time she spent with the people she loved meant the most to her. Up until her passing, she was surrounded by loved ones which brought her comfort.
Marie’s passing has left a void in the lives of her family, friends, and all those who knew her. We ask that you remember her for how her life was lived and the profound impact she had on those who knew her.
