Nancy B. Gould

Nancy was born in Troy, NY on July 21,1931 and was the daughter of Herbert and Doris Betham. She graduated valedictorian from Milne High School in Albany, NY in 1949 and received a BA degree from Wells College in Aurora, NY in 1953. She married John W. Gould of Plainville, CT on Nov 12, 1955.

Nancy retired in 2000 as Society Editor for the Main Line Media News in Wayne, PA. During her long career there, she covered many social events with John at her side. They enjoyed attending and hosting parties including yearly events at the Devon Horse Show.

After retirement, Nancy and John moved to Essex, Connecticut to enjoy their final years. She volunteered at the Essex library, was a member of the Flower Club, and attended the St. John’s Episcopal Church. She and John enjoyed going to the Essex Yacht Club, and Monday nights at the Griswold Inn.

Throughout her life, Nancy enjoyed music, art, traveling, reading, and gardening.

During her time at Apple Mystic, she loved visits from family and friends.

Preceded in death by John, she is survived by her son Stephen, daughters Leslie and Susan, and Granddaughter Claire.

A private service for the family will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Essex, CT.
