

Patricia (McGovern) Attridge, 93 years old, died peacefully in her home in Madison on March 27, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was married for 59 glorious years to her childhood sweetheart John Attridge, who proceeded her in death in 2016. Their life together began in Worcester, MA and their journey continued in Trumbull & Monroe, CT; Peru, IN; Dallas, PA; and Deep River, CT. In each of these locations, they formed wonderful friendships and long-lasting memories.
Patricia was born on February 22, 1933, in Worcester, MA; the daughter of John McGovern and Florence (Bradshaw) McGovern. She graduated with a degree in Nursing from Worcester City Hospital and provided compassionate care in the Nursery, Pediatrics, and Geriatrics. Patricia was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, a Lector at St. Josephs Church – St. Teresa’s of Calcutta Parish in Chester, St. Charles Church, in Peru and participated in a Gourmet Dinner Club locally. Patty, as she was affectionally known, was a shining light to all that had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and others whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her for the way she lived and carry on her legacy.
She leaves her daughters, Betty Crawshaw and her husband John, Susan Napier and her husband Stephen and her daughter-in-law, Sherie Attridge. She cherished her Grandchildren: Rachel Long, Amy McPhilemy, Meghan Graf, Adam Crawshaw and his wife Tara, Katie Napier and husband Patrick Picciuto, and Sean Napier as well as her Great Grandchildren: Emma Daily, Madeline Graf, Gibson Daily, Connor Graf, Nora McPhilemy, Elliott Long and Liam Crawshaw. Patty also leaves her sister, Betty Galvin and Sister-in-Law Jane McGovern, Brother-in-Law, Bill Attridge and his wife Mary. She was predeceased by her husband John Attridge, her son George Attridge and daughter Mary Attridge, her brothers Richard McGovern and James McGovern. She also left behind many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 9-10AM at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10:30AM at St. Joseph Church – St. Teresa’s of Calcutta, 48 Middlesex Avenue in Chester. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Patty’s name to Wounded Warriors and St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
