

He was born in Port Chester, New York on April 9, 1942.
Parents Seward Francis McCurdy and Gertrude Gladys McCurdy.
Attended Steven’s Institute of Technology in New Jersey, and Thames Valley College in Norwich, CT.
Served in the Army from 1964-1966 where he was stationed in Hanau Germany as a specialist E-4. Served in Communications Radio 3rd Armed Division 7th Army. He trained on the Honest John Rockets, and was in the reserves until 1970.
Licensed by the FCC Communications for Radio Second Class, and Amateur Radio Extra Class.
He volunteered in Civil Preparedness for the town of Essex.
In 1969 he married Sandra Robbins, in 1970 Wayne McCurdy was born. They resided in Essex.

Funeral Mass will be Monday January 12, 2026 at 11a.m. Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. 14 Prospect Street, Essex.
Military Honors will follow immediately after the mass in front of Our Lady of Sorrows and a reception to follow in Murtha Hall at Our Lady of Sorrows.
Burial will be at a later date, Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.
