On the 31st day of October, 2025, our heavenly Father called Robin Michelle (Hand) DiBiaso, 59, of Deep River, CT, home to Himself. She now rests in the arms of our Savior, Christ Jesus, awaiting the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.
While we mourn her loss, we celebrate Robin’s life. She was a kind and humble woman, and a faithful Christian, wife, daughter, sister, and auntie. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Robert and Jacquelyn Hand, Robin was raised with her three sisters in Connecticut. She was a student of Ridge Hill Elementary and West Woods Christian Academy in Hamden, and Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven. As a child, she attended St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and Gospel Tabernacle Assemblies of God in her teen years. At an early age, by the grace of the Holy Spirit, Robin developed a deep and unwavering love for Jesus and trust in His promises. This abiding faith saw her through many afflictions and sorrows throughout her life, and she held fast to the end.
Robin is known by all to have a generous, compassionate, and gentle soul. It grieved her to see any of God’s creatures suffer, and she never failed to pray for those in need. She didn’t think much of the world’s view of success, and had no regard for wealth, status, or popularity. She had little enough to give, but of the little she had, she gave freely: if she had it and you liked it, it was yours. Robin was quick to forgive and encouraged others to do the same. She always cheered us on in our successes and happiness, sincerely wishing people well, never harm. She was warm and welcoming to all.
Robin genuinely loved people but hated crowds, loved her country but disliked politics, and made us laugh, though she never considered herself “funny.” Above all, Robin loved God and her family. And coffee. A favorite day for Robin would be spent with her husband driving around town, stopping at Clinton beach to watch the waves and gulls, or appreciating the quite beauty of Chatfield Hollow, finishing with a visit to our mom’s—all done with a cup of coffee in hand.
Her favorite holidays were, ironically, Halloween and Christmas. She loved giving and receiving spooky cards and watching old, not-too-scary spooky movies. She also loved to shop for Christmas gifts and always showed up on Christmas day laden with presents for every single family member—no one was left out. On the 4th of July, she could always be counted on to bring the fireworks.
Robin enjoyed the Psalms, and listening to hymns, Christmas carols, and the best of 60s and 70s pop. She liked to fish, play piano, and paint. She most often painted sweeping landscapes and stormy seas, always gifting her creations to loved ones.
Robin was preceded in death by her father, Robert Hand, sister, Celeste Sisk, and nephew, Jonathan Barbi. She is survived by her mother, Jacquelyn Hand, her husband of twenty-eight years, Tony DiBiaso, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Julie and Bill Hisle, and April and Tony Barbi, and eleven nieces and nephews. She is loved, missed, and will never be forgotten.
Robin and Tony were long-standing members of the Lutheran Church of Madison, where a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 2 p.m..
“When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” Psalm 34:17-19.
