

Ron was born on July 3, 1941 to Dorothy Champion (Kirtland) Caminati and Gedio Augistine Caminati. He grew up in Chester CT where he swam the length of Cedar Lake in the summers, went fishing and played baseball.
He joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1959-1963, all 6’4” of him on the submarine USS Jallao. He was an electrician by trade a proud member of the IBEW Local 90. He spent some great years working at Connecticut Yankee Nuclear Power Plant with local 457 as well as at Millstone Nuclear Power Plant and Wallingford Gas Power before retiring.
Ron loved the outdoors: hunting, deep sea fishing and working on the farm and house, as well as stock car racing and long drives. He loved listening to music and watching the Yankees.
Ron leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years Georgiana (Maly) Caminati. They met when they were 16, and were married on February 11, 1961.
He was a wonderful dad to Pamela Walsh, Sandra (Ron) Bamber, Ronald (Kim) Caminati Jr. and Julianne Caminati, as well as caring brother to Beatrice Smith.
He was a loving Papa to 11 grand and great grandchildren: E.J., Patrick, Rebekah, Joshua, Jordan, Angelina, Olivia, Haley, Abigail, Liam and Dakota.
Ron was also a steadfast Cousin, Uncle and great friend to so many people that were so important to him over the years. He had a quiet wit and enjoyed sharing a laugh with friends, coworkers and neighbors
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook from 5:00PM to 6:30PM. A service will follow in the funeral home chapel.
