Seth Emerson Andrews of Brooklyn, NY, passed away unexpectedly from an aortic aneurysm on Thursday, May 14th, 2026, at the age of 49. He was born on September 10th, 1976, the son of Craig and Deborah Andrews, and grew up in Farmington, Connecticut.
Throughout his life, Seth loved being part of a team. As a young child, he excelled at soccer and ice hockey, and he played a variety of sports as a student at Avon Old Farms – on the field as a place kicker and as a member of the lacrosse and squash teams. He served as a cadet in the Farmington Fire Department as a teenager, along with friends who remained close to him, and that experience influenced his career choices later in life.
Seth graduated from Avon Old Farms School in 1996 and Muhlenberg College in 2000, earning a BA in Broadcast Journalism & Communications. He began his professional career at WPIX in New York City, winning his first of three career “Excellence in Journalism” Emmy Awards as a Segment Producer. He went on to serve for three years as a Press Officer for FDNY, and four years as a Deputy Press Secretary at the Office of Emergency Management (OEM).
In 2012, he returned to broadcast journalism in New York, where he worked as a Segment Producer at The Huffington Post and helped to launch HuffPost Live. While there, he was humbled to receive the Edward R. Murrow Award for Broadcast Journalism. He moved to Nashville as the Managing Editor of the NBC affiliate, WSMV, where he and his team won two Emmy Awards in 2017 and 2018.
He was excited to return to New York in 2020 to join FOX News as a National Assignment Editor. His most recent position was in the NY Bureau as a National Field Producer, which was his passion. He worked hard and was well respected, leaving behind a multitude of colleagues. The outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming from his FOX family – correspondents, contributors, photographers, graphics creators, drone operators, and the security details he assigned. They were not simply his co-workers, they were his friends and he was theirs, a friend to all.
Seth had a great sense of humor, a joyful smile, and an unmistakably big heart. He treasured time with family and friends in New York, Connecticut, and on the beaches of Wellfleet, where he was especially at ease. He also found joy in life’s simple pleasures – a wood burning fire, a round of golf, a game of cribbage, and cooking simple, but elegant meals. A devoted sports fan, Seth was especially passionate about UConn basketball, however, nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his sons, whether he was watching them compete on the soccer field or sharing a blazing fire with them. He was always ready to listen, offer thoughtful advice, and lend his steady support. A true and loyal friend to many, he leaves behind a lasting impact and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Seth is survived by his cherished children, sons Aren and Khoren Andrews, and daughter, Harper Andrews. He leaves his beloved mother, Debbie, and his loving brother and sister-in-law, Todd and Nelle, and their children, Molly, Spencer, and Morgan Andrews. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Albert and Harriet Botters, their son Bob, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his loving father, Craig and paternal grandparents, Charles and Eleanor Andrews.
A Celebration of Life will be held with family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Seth’s memory may be made to the Academic Excellence Fund for the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University, which will benefit Communications majors needing assistance in their studies. Our hearts are broken, however, our love for Seth is never ending. Seth, we’ll take it from here.
