Stella Z. Bump

Stella (Zaremba) Bump, 95 of Westbrook died on July 4, 2025 at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam, CT. She was the beloved wife of the late John M Bump for over 61 years who died in 2012. Daughter of the late Joseph & Anna (Kurek) Zaremba, Stella was born in Deep River, CT and was a lifelong resident of Westbrook.

Stella was a long time parishioner at St. Mark Church in Westbrook and loved to Polka dance with her family and friends. She will be remembered as being a friend to so many.

Stella is survived by her children, her daughter Mary Ellen Iovieno and her husband John of Higganum and her son John M. Bump Jr. and his wife Ellen of Plymouth, MA, her brother Paul Zaremba of Deep River, her grandchildren; Kate Aufiero and her husband Jesse of Wilton, Emily Hopkins and her husband Erick of Killingworth, Britten Bump of Plymouth, MA; and her great- grandchildren Elizabeth and Lillian Aufiero of Wilton and Lucas and Jacob Hopkins of Killingworth. Stella was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, John Zaremba, Mary Elston, Helen Hotkowski, Anthony Zaremba, Joseph Zaremba, Victor Zaremba, Dorothy Stopa, and Josephine Koritkoski.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00 -10:30 am at Robinson Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. Centerbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, McVeigh Rd. Westbrook at 11am. Burial will follow at the Centerbrook Cemetery, Westbrook Rd, in Centerbrook.
