Barbara Jean Grzymkowski

Barbara Jean (Lovell) Grzymkowski passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025 after a 10+ year battle with Alzheimers. Barbara was born June 14, 1946 in E.Hartford, CT. She met the love of her life, Francis Grzymkowski while living next door to each other. They were married for 60 yrs and settled in Stony Brook, Long Island where she raised her family. She was a devoted wife, mother of 3, and grandmother of 6, along with being the eldest of 4 siblings, a caring mother-in-law, aunt, and many friends. In addition to bringing up her children, she was employed for 30 yrs at Ridge Elementary School. She was the primary secretary to the principal and brought her endless passion to all staff and children. Without a doubt, her favorite role was that of being a grandmother. She treasured her grandkids and spoiled them with her never ending love, playfulness, and generosity. She shared her love of cooking, reading, decorating, crafting, traveling and scrapbooking with friends and family. Many will remember her kindness, compassion and commitment to family. During the progression of her illness she resided in the Jensen family home, all while under the care, love, and support the family provided her. We bid farewell to Barbara. Let us carry forward the love and laughter she brought into our lives. May her spirit forever echo in our hearts.

A Memorial service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be on June 28th at OB Davis Funeral Home 2326 Middle Country Rd. Centereach, NY 11720 from 11am-1pm.  "The Family will receive Guests from 11:00 - 12:00 PM, with the Memorial Service to take place from 12:00 - 12:30 PM".

Immediately following celebration, guests are welcome at Cheryl & George Jensen’s Home.
