Harold C. Beechey, fondly known as “Hap” or “Harry,” passed away peacefully on February 1st. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Betty, with whom he shared 41 years of devoted marriage and a lifetime of love.
An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Harry served his country with pride and honor. Following his military service, he built a distinguished career as Chief of Administrative Services for the Internal Revenue Service, where he was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and dedication.
Those who knew Harry would describe him as beloved and cherished — a generous, hard-working, honest, and thoughtful man who valued family, friendship, and loyalty above all else. He had a gift for storytelling, especially when sharing family history, and could often be found recounting stories that kept memories alive and laughter flowing.
Harry enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: avid camping trips, tending to his garden, cheering on the Yankees and the Giants, and savoring Italian and Chinese cuisine — often accompanied by a nice cold Budweiser. At home, he found great comfort in the companionship of his feline friends, Willie and Katie, who brought him much joy.
He is reunited in peace with his siblings, George and Eileen, who preceded him in death. Harry leaves behind a loving legacy cherished by his ten nieces and nephews and fourteen great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Above all else, Hap deeply loved his wife, parents, cats, relatives, and friends. His kindness, warmth, and steady presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He will be sorely missed and forever remembered.
