

John George Callas, of Centereach, NY, passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on March 15, 1961, in Manhattan, NY, John lived a life defined by love for his family, a passion for classic cars, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys found on the farm and in the skies and rails.
John was a beloved father to Bryan (Rebecca), Kristi, and John, and a proud and loving grandfather to Dalton John George. He was also a cherished brother to Chris Callas. John was also devoted to his girlfriend Michelle Giovanniello. His life was centered around his family—he found joy in being with them, sharing stories, laughter, and the warmth of togetherness.
John’s interests reflected his spirited personality and curiosity for the world. He had a lifelong love of classic cars. He enjoyed quiet days on the farm, surrounded by his family and animals, and was endlessly fascinated by all things trains and planes.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 2–4 PM and 7–9 PM. The family will be going to The Village Idiot Pub in Lake Grove, NY between the viewing hours. A prayer service is pending at this time. John will be laid to rest with Army Honors at Calverton National Cemetery, 2012 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, NY 11933, on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 11:30 AM.
John George Callas will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His memory lives on in the hearts of those he loved so dearly.
