The soul of John E McCoy, Jr., of Centereach NY, passed October 12, 2025. He leaves behind wife Nannette Poillon, son Frank and wife Erin Nolan McCoy, their children Eileen, Jack, Ryan, and Shey, as well as his brothers Edward, Michael, Steven, Paul and Dennis, and their families. His sister, Therese, predeceased him. Through all the sorrow John’s passing brings we turn now to celebrate his life and pray for the recipients of his organ donation.
Organ donation is one of the most meaningful gifts a person can give. For those waiting for a transplant, it offers a second chance — a new beginning after months or even years of illness. It means more time with loved ones, more milestones, and more life. For the families of donors, the decision to give can bring comfort during grief. Knowing that their loved one helped save or improve the lives of others offers a sense of purpose and healing. It’s a powerful legacy that lives on. One donor can save multiple lives and impact entire families and communities. In the face of loss, organ donation brings hope, healing, and the chance for life to continue.
John was proprietor of JM Construction Company of LI, LLC, a highly respected residential builder of homes from condominiums to celebrity’s residents and historic properties across Long Island and the Boroughs. An avid reader, fisherman and sports enthusiast he supported preservation of waterways and natural resources and participated in charitable organizations including Moose Lodge 1379, Port Jefferson, NY and Tunnel to Towers. Through his father’s enthusiasm, he came to love music naturally throughout his life becoming a member of Barbershop Harmony Society. In mid-life he performed with the Harborman’s Chorus. Singing with his brothers, Edward and Steven, in the “Working Men” quartet they placed respectfully well in regional competitions.

“Don't be ashamed to weep; 'tis right to grieve. Tears are only water, and flowers, trees, and fruit cannot grow without water. But there must be sunlight also. A wounded heart will heal in time, and when it does, the memory and love of our lost ones is sealed inside to comfort us.”
