On July 2, 1950 Lucille married Carl Werkheiser in Glendale, Queens. In 1952 Lucille and Carl moved to Selden and were one of the first members of Hope Lutheran Church. She always came to the 8:00 A.M. service and was known by many of the parishioners at Hope Lutheran Church.
Lucille served as the secretary of Anchor Nursery School for many years. She was also a homemaker and a mechanic with her father.
Lucille loved gardening, yard work, playing cards and taking care of her husband and son. She also loved to watch game shows and read out loud.
Lucille had one sister, Charlotte and two brothers, Gerard who worked on the Alaska pipeline and Louis who was a mechanic. Her son Carl and daughter-in-law Laura lived with her.
Lucille will surely be missed by all who knew her.
