

Marcella Johnson Parrott, the daughter of the late Henry and Adeline Johnson, was born on September 7, 1938, in Darlington, SC. She peacefully departed this life, as she lived it on Monday, November 10, 2014 in Coram, NY.
Marcella was educated in Darlington County Public Schools System, where she met and was united in marriage to her High School Sweetheart, Thomas Eugene Parrott on April 1, 1957. This union of 49 plus years was blessed with four children and five grandchildren. Marcella was a caring and compassionate woman who instilled love, laughter, dedication, and commitment in her family. She was the foundation and inspiration to the success of her children and her grandchildren. Marcella, well-known for her hometown Southern Cuisine, enjoyed cooking for her family; brothers, cousins, nieces, and nephews in Darlington; and she also shared numerous meals with the neighborhood kids in the Hollis and Laurelton neighborhoods of NY as well.
Those who share the joys of life with her and survived to cherish her memory and mourn her passing are: her three loving children Shawn Martél Moore of Murray Hill, NY; Carlton E. Parrott of Coram, NY; and Darrell D. Parrott of Brooklyn, NY. Marcella is predeceased by her loving daughter Debbie E. Parrott Sinclair of Freeport, NY and husband Thomas Eugene Parrott of Darlington, NY. She also leaves her five loving grandchildren: Tristan RéShar Breaux of Washington, DC; Ne’Sah Lorne Sinclair of Freeport, NY; Carlton Lamarr Parrott of Queens Village, NY; and DéVon Najee Moore of Murray Hill, NY; and Jasmin Baylor Parrott of Coram, NY; one brother William Johnson of Darlington, SC and one brother in-law Frank Williams, Sr. of Queens, NY; two son in-laws Elmer Reggie Moore, Jr. of Cleveland, OH and Kingsley Sinclair of Freeport, NY; two daughter in-laws Lisa Carson Parrott of Queens Village, NY and June Baylor of Coram, NY. She leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving friends at their home, 411 Ruby Street, Darlington, SC. There will be in intimate viewing for family and friends on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, 612 South Main Street, Darlington, SC. Home Going Services will be on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 12:00 p.m., at St. James United Methodist Church, located at 312 Pearl Street, Darlington, SC. The Interment will follow at Faith Memorial Gardens, Darlington, SC.
