Mary Sjogren

Mary Sjogren, 91, of Lake Grove, New York, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2025. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert A. Sjogren, and her son, Steven (the late Catherine). She is survived by her loving daughter, Susan Cansler (Robert L.), and cherished grandchildren: Angela Sjogren (Cody Seuling), Mary Youngberg (Kevin), Christopher Cansler, and Kari Martinez (Alex). She was also a devoted great-grandmother to Keira, Matthew, and Arthur. A devoted sister, Mary is remembered fondly by her siblings: Gerry Proetto (Terry), Joseph Proetto (the late Marilyn), and Joan Russo (the late Raymond).

Mary was a woman of deep love and passion for her family, her home, and the many animals she cared for throughout her life, especially her beloved dogs. She had a remarkable talent for gardening, with a special fondness for indoor tropical plants.

Mary enjoyed thrifting, always on the hunt for the perfect find, and could often be found browsing the dollar store, enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 2326 Middle Country Road, Centereach, NY 11720.

Mary's family finds comfort in knowing she lived a life full of love, warmth, and joy, leaving behind a lasting legacy of kindness, devotion, and cherished memories.
