Ralph J. Cirone, Sr., 90, of Centereach, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2020. Predeceased by his late wife, Ann and late daughter-in-law, Theresa Cirone. Survived by his loving children Ralph, Jr. (Kathy), Steven (Stephanie), Barbara Polistina (Steve), Paul, Joseph (Tracy), Linda Mullins (Don) and Lori Marando (Rich). Cherished grandpa to Steven, Jr., Justine (Anthony), T.J., Joseph, Samantha, Neal, Richard, Steven, Chrisann, Ethan, Amber, Dominic and Johnpaul. Devoted great-grandpa to Alana. Beloved brother of Mildred Lipp (Donald) and the late Maryanne Grillo (the late Alfonso).
Ralph was raised in Woodside, Queens and attended PS12 K-8, Class of 1944. He attended the Manhattan HS of Aviation Trades, Class of 1948. He was proud of his service in the Korean War and earned a Bronze Star Medal, 1953. Ralph “Silver Fox” worked for Grumman for 45 years as an Aircraft Mechanic. He started in Bethpage and then transferred to Calverton Plant 7. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1897, Centereach, New York. Member of the Grumman Retirees Club, Eastern LI Chapter. Stony Brook Veteran’s Home Volunteer. A long time parishioner of Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Centereach, NY. He will be forever remembered for his countless woodworking projects, even completing a few in his final days. May He Rest in Peace.
Visitation will be held at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 2326 Middle Country Road, Cenetereach, NY 11720 on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Mass, 9:45 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church in Ronkonkoma. Military Honors by the Army and Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
