He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Maryann, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. He was a devoted father to Mark J. Brosnan (Laura) and Cathie Lyra (the late Russ), and a proud and cherished Opa to Amanda, Daniel, and Mady. He also leaves behind his loving siblings, James (Carol) and Mary Serigano, who held a special place in his heart.
A proud fourth-degree member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Robert took great pride in his Irish heritage. He was an avid golfer and world traveler, sharing unforgettable journeys with Maryann to destinations like Greece, Alaska, and Russia—he even kissed the Blarney Stone in Ireland. Through all his travels and experiences, his greatest joy remained his family. Their love and closeness meant everything to him.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 2326 Middle Country Road, Centereach, NY 11720. A prayer service will take place during the visitation from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
Robert will be remembered for his warmth, his wit, and the deep love he had for those around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
