A proud United States Marine, Thomas exemplified the values of service, integrity, and sacrifice throughout his life. After serving his country, he continued his commitment to public service as a Police Officer with the Port Authority Transit Police, where he earned the respect of both his colleagues and the community through his dedication, honesty, and hard work.
Thomas will be remembered as a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was brave, generous, kind-hearted, wise, and deeply cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He leaves behind his loving children, Erin O'Brien-Friberg, Shannon Torres, and Thomas O'Brien Jr.; his treasured grandchildren, Vinny Torres Jr. and Michael Torres, who brought him endless pride and joy; and his beloved sister, Jane Falcone.
Thomas found happiness on the golf course, traveling to new places, spending time at the beach, and, above all, creating lasting memories with his grandchildren. He was also a proud member of the Emerald Society, where he shared a strong sense of fellowship and tradition.
Thomas lived a life defined by honor, compassion, and selfless service. His strength, gentle spirit, and steadfast love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly. May he rest in eternal peace.
