I first met Daylene in 1974 when we began working together at MVH.  We became good friends and shared many interests. We'd go ice skating weekly for a period of time. She had trouble getting up in the morning so I became her wake up service and used to call her the minute I got up each morning. I was always a bit in awe of some of her life experiences and travel adventures. She also seemed to have some of the most intriguing friends. After I left the hospital we only saw each other intermittently but whenever we did we always picked right back up. I know she had many serious health challenges over the years but she somehow kept on going. She was an excellent nurse. She was a loving and loyal daughter, sister, aunt and friend. My life is better for having known her.

It was a privilege to have known Daylene! As a fellow Docent at the D.A.I., she always made the meetings enjoyable with her witty observations and comments. We will miss her!

Daylene was my first real neighbor after entering the work force.  I came to know her well in 1974-75, there on Meeting House Road.  She was such a lovely person who enjoyed spirited conversations, her kitty and Frank Sinatra.  I will never forget our conversation(s) on Darwinism and reincarnation.  I can honestly say that she always had a cheerful smile and pleasant greeting when we ran into each other.  Our front doors were literally a couple feet apart.  I saw her last in 1992 as she was recovering from health issues - and she was still the same person I knew 17 years prior.  We chatted about old friends (Sarah, Bev, KSK, Judy & Rhonda) and family.  As life does, we moved on in life and eventually lost contact.  On Dec. 12, 2015, I attempted to contact her to no avail - It would have Frank Sinatra's 100th birthday. So many great memories. Daylene loved Christmas. We miss her so much but she will be forever in our hearts. Reunited with loved ones in Heaven must be a beautiful experience. Rest in peace, Dear Friend.
