Annette S. Rankin, 88, passed away on August 18, 2026, at Ochsner O’Neal Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born on December 8, 1937, in Sikes, LA, the eighth child, to the late Iley Pierce and Rosa Sikes Simmons.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Gerald Clint Rankin; sons, Phillip Randall (Theresa) and Ragan Clint (Lisa); daughter, Robin Lynette; grandchildren, Crystal R. Waller (Alex), Cole C. Rankin (Kayla), Lauren Lafferty (Kory), and Kyle C. Rankin; great grandchild, Conner Case; sister, Linda Bowman; brother, R. Gene Simmons (Louceal); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Vanoil S. Adams (Thomas), Earlene S. Barlow (Martin), Mary Ethel S. Thames (Donald), Cois Simmons (Zell), DeVane Simmons (Barbara), LaVance Simmons (Alice), and Earl Franklin Simmons (Laura & Billie).
A visitation will be held at Central Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70818, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11 am until funeral services at 1 pm. Burial will follow in Zoar Baptist Cemetery. A reception will follow at Zoar Baptist Church.
