Brenda Fae Humphries Robertson was born on January 31, 1951 in Pineville, LA and raised in Belledeau, LA. She was one of 8 children born to Charlie Hartman and Louelle Smith Humphries. She graduated from Fifth Ward in 1969 along with 11 others and they all maintained close friendships throughout their lives. Brenda worked in Alexandria for Continental Trailways until they closed and then worked as a telephone operator. In 1971, she moved to Baton Rouge and married Douglas Roland Robertson whom she met in the summer of 1968 while working as a waitress at Krispy Kreme. It was love at first sight and they spent 51 great years together. They were blessed with one son in 1974, Ivan Ernest Robertson.
Brenda retired from Krispy Kreme with 30 years of service as a secretary and bookkeeper. She loved growing house plants, the Smoky Mountains, everything about nature, a beautiful sunrise and the wonders of awesome sunsets. Brenda also loved a harvest moon and watching the leaves change in the fall.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Roland Robertson; her parents and siblings M. L., Ernest and Odis Humphries, Helen Bradley and Elaine Kyle and sister-in-law, Deanna Humphries.
Left to treasure her memories are: Ivan and Shana Robertson; grandchildren, Jamie, Cole and Shelby Robertson; brother-in-law, James Robertson; sisters, Mae Humphries and Bernice Griffin; along with 5 nephews and 4 nieces.
Brenda was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. Relatives and friends are invited to Central Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 17th for a visitation at 10:30AM. A funeral service will begin at 11:30AM, officiated by Fr. Palermo. Burial is postponed until further notice.
