Carolyn Carpenter Davis, 76, a resident of Pride, died April 6, 2023 at Oakwood Village in Zachary after a hard fought and courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a faithful servant of our Lord and a lifelong member of Blackwater United Methodist Church. She enjoyed attending Hallie Smith Circle meetings at Blackwater UMC and the Friends and Needles Group at Zachary UMC. She loved making goodie bags for her children and grandchildren for every holiday. She especially enjoyed her many adventures she would take with her lifelong friend, Wanda Whittington.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, John Randall Davis and wife Becky Kimball Davis of Clinton and Richard Nicholas Davis and Pamela Corkern Davis of Livingston. Five grandchildren, Brittney Davis Young and husband Jordan of Central, Dalton James Davis and fiancée Allie Cagle of Baton Rouge, Amanda Davis Jackson and husband Charlie Jackson of Denham Springs, Jessica Davis of Livingston, Jamie Davis and fiancée Michael Fitzgerald of Livingston and niece Paula Miller of Central.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Edgard “Johnny” Davis, parents William “Skeets” and Johnnie Hooper Carpenter, and a sister Pamela Carpenter Stevenson.
Visiting will be Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m. at Blackwater United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Kennon Pickett. Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dalton Davis, Jordan Young, Charlie Jackson, Michael Fitzgerald, John Allen Kirkwood and Lee Whittington. Honorary pallbearer will be Ryan Whittington.
