Chester Quebedeaux, resident of Central, Louisiana, passed away on August 21, 2025 at the age of 84. Chester was born in Lafayette and raised in the Carencro area. He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. Following his military service, Chester was hired by the Baton Rouge City Police Department, spending 5 years in uniform and the remainder of his police career in the criminal division. After 30 years of service, he retired from the BRPD as a lieutenant and started his 23 year tenure with the Louisiana state senate. Chester’s hobbies included fishing, hunting and camping. He also enjoyed spending time at his camp at Three Mile Lake and being with his family. He is survived by his wife, Mary Fontenot Quebedeaux of Central, LA; sons, Todd Quebedeaux (Kelly) of Clinton, LA, Allen Quebedeaux (Dana) of Central, LA; daughter, Tonya Hardman (Michael) of Central, LA; grandchildren, Kaylene, Tony, Rachel, Brett, Brandi, Kristin, Cody, Mika, Kyle, Caden, 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moise and Bernice Quebedeaux; brother, Earl Quebedeaux, Sr.; sister-in-law, Savannah Quebedeaux; brother-in-law, Louis Fontenot, Jr.; paternal grandmother, Helena Meche; father-in-law, Louis Fontenot, Sr.; mother-in-law, Joyce Fontenot; nephew, Mark Hebert, two great-grandchildren and grandson-in-law, Brad DeFranceschi. Pallbearers will be Tony Quebedeaux, Brett Quebedeaux, Cody Rogillio, Caden Rogillio, Kyle Rogillio and Kristopher DeFranceschi. Visitation will be held at Central Funeral Home on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again at Central Funeral Home on Monday, August 25, 2025 starting at 9:00 am until the funeral service begins at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at St. Charles Borromeo Church Cemetery in Grand Coteau at 2:00 pm. Central Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
