Ellen Lorraine Sanders, age 82, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021. Ellen was born February 13, 1939 in Woodville, Mississippi. She moved to Louisiana 62 years ago and began a career with the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board in 1978. She was a dedicated bus driver and never did retire. She was loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Ellen was preceded in death by her father, Chalmers Morris; her mother, Vinnie Morris Murray; her husband, Gladden "Sam" Sanders; brother, Berlin Morris, and her son, Greg Sanders.
She is survived by her sons, Johnny Sanders and Jamie Sanders; her brother, Tobie Morris and his wife Sallye; sister in law, Lydia Morris, and her grandsons, John Sanders, Justin Sanders, Jeremy Sanders, and Josh Sanders. Ellen also leaves 11 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held Friday, October 29, 2021 at Central Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Road, Central, LA 70818, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will then take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville, MS at 1:30 pm. Central Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
