Houston Joseph Chenevert Jr., 87, of Pride, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born on October 11, 1937, Houston lived a life rooted in love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those he cherished. He was a man of great character, known for his warm smile, generous spirit, and the deep connections he built with everyone he met.
Above all, Houston was a teacher—not in a classroom, but in the way he lived his life. He passed down invaluable lessons to his children and grandchildren, showing them how to be self-sufficient and strong. Whether he was teaching them how to hunt and fish, change a tire, or navigate life’s challenges with patience and determination, he ensured they were prepared for anything. His commitment to his family extended beyond tradition as he took on a parental role for his great grandchild, Brendon. His wisdom and guidance shaped generations, instilling in them a love for the outdoors, a respect for hard work, and an appreciation for the simple joys in life.
Houston also had a larger-than-life personality that brought joy to everyone around him. He put the “fun” in dysfunctional family and was the magnet that drew everyone in. The life of every party, he was always ready to cut a rug, share a laugh, and uplift those who needed it most. His presence filled every room with warmth, humor, and love, leaving behind memories that will be cherished forever.
