Jim Ewing, 77, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on October 21, 2023. He was born on June 13, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland to James Thomas Ewing, Sr. and Verna Elizabeth Ewing. Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of American Legion Post 38 and First Baptist Church Central.
A loving husband and father, Jim leaves behind to cherish his memories daughters, Elizabeth Ewing Gaynor of Charleston, SC, and Lori Ewing Deal of Shreveport, LA; sons, Aaron Meshell of Shreveport, LA and Robert Hollowell of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Kristal Cook, Shelby Snyder, Aaron Gaynor, River Meshell, Autumn Burbank, Cameron Hollowell, Timothy Deal, Emma Meshell, Avery Meshell; great -grandchildren, Harper Snyder, Jaxson Moreno
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Ann Newton; father, James Thomas Ewing, Sr.; mother, Verna Elizabeth Ewing; sister Bonnie (Ewing) Williams of Ashtabula, OH.
A visitation will be held at Rabenhorst East 11000 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 4-8pm, visitation will continue Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 9am until the funeral service at 11am officiated by Pastor Daryl Purpera. Interment will take place Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 1pm at Rose-Neath Cemetery 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, LA.
Pallbearers will be Kristal Cook, Shelby Snyder, Aaron Gaynor, River Meshell, Autumn Burbank, Cameron Hollowell, Timothy Deal, Emma Meshell, Avery Meshell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Mr. Ewing’s name.
