

Dorothy “June” Eisworth Theriot passed away at her home on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the age of 90. She was born in Baker, Louisiana to George Sr. and Minette Eisworth and was the oldest of 4 siblings, residing in Central all her life. June had poise, beauty, a heart of gold and was always helping those in need. She was a woman of strong faith accepting Christ at 12 years old. For 78 years, June called Zoar Baptist her church home, where she served on numerous committees and could always be found helping serve-whatever the need was.
June graduated from Central High School in 1951, where she met her husband, J.G. He was a football player, and she was the first homecoming queen elected at Central High, as well as the first editor of the Central High School yearbook. Whether June was in the yard working, at the grocery store or attending church, she was always dressed to the nines and never left home without her lipstick and earrings - she was a classy woman. With a strong passion for education, June worked as a school secretary with East Baton Rouge Parish for many years. Upon retirement, she and J.G loved to travel the country in their RV.
June is survived by her sons and their spouses, John Jr. and his wife Gwen and William Justice "Bill" and his wife Lynn, grandchildren, Tasha Buchler and Beau Theriot and great grandchildren, John Theriot, Madison Claire Buchler and Brandon Buchler, in addition to her sister, Mary Ann Eisworth Morris, brother-in-law Jim Fitch and sister-in-law Beryl Eisworth. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews who were very special to her. In addition to her mother and father, she was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, John Gerald “J.G.” Theriot, Sr., sister, Cynthia Eisworth Fitch, brother, George “Bubba” Eisworth Jr., brother-in-laws, Ted Morris and Horace Theriot Jr., sister-in-laws, Elfleda Nevils, Norma Ory, Neva Von Monarch, Bernadette Rice Mills, June Phelps and Shirley Browning.
Visitation will be held at Zoar Baptist Church, 11848 Hooper Road, Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 9:00-11:00 AM with religious services following at 11:00 conducted by Bro. Glenn Miers and music by Bro. Kevin Hand. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. June left this world as gracefully as she lived!
