
Margaret Diane Jones, a lifetime resident of Central, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, February 13,2025 at age 70. She was born on September 11,1954 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late Edward Foster and Margaret Alice Slaton.
Margaret dedicated many years to serving her community as a school bus driver, where she touched the lives of countless children and families with warmth and kindness. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable happiness. She cherished every moment spent with them and loved watching them grow. An outgoing and friendly person, Margaret’s infectious smile and caring nature made her a friend to everyone she met. Her heart was as big as her personality, and she had a way of making everyone feel welcome and appreciated.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Jessica Jones Barraza; her granddaughters, Amaly, Addaly, and Analise; her brothers, Bill and Danny Foster and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Alice, her beloved husband, Danny Jones, and her brother, Lloyd Foster.
Family, friends and others who wish to celebrate Margaret’s life are invited to attend remembrance services Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church, 19421 Greenwell Springs Road, Greenwell Springs, LA, 70739 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2025 with visitation from 9:00-11:00 am and the funeral service from 11:00 am-12:00 pm.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the hospital staff at Baton Rouge General, with special recognition and gratitude to the Telemetry unit for their exceptional care and support during Margaret's time there. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cancer Association of Louisiana in Margaret’s name.
She will forever be in our hearts.
