Martin spent many years working for Dow Chemical and later in life, he focused on his passion for painting, both as a handyman and artistically through his oil paintings, many referencing the beauty of Lake Verret.
A proud father of two and grandfather of three, Martin leaves behind his son, Martin Albert Gehling, IV “Little Martin” and his wife Sarah, and their two children, Ruby and Martin Albert Gehling, V “Marty”; and his daughter, Monika Gehling Arnold and her husband Corey, and their son, Camden Arnold.
Oldest of four siblings, “Big Martin” is survived by his brothers, James E. “Jim” Gehling, Sr. and wife Cindy, John M. Gehling, Sr. and wife Laurie, and William M. “Billy” Gehling, Sr.; plus, an abundance of extended family that will forever cherish “Uncle Martin”. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gayle Gehling and father, Martin A. “Bill” Gehling, Jr.
