Milton Edward Bourque Sr., age 89, of Central, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Carpenter House surrounded by his loving family. Milton retired from Deltech (Foster Grant) with over 40 years of employment. He served in the United States Air Force, played guitar and sang at local honky tonks and the radio station every Saturday morning. Bluegrass inspired his life to later sing with the Cooksey Family and tour with other gospel group. Milton played and sang until he lost his hearing in an industrial accident. He married his loving wife, Betty Jo Bourque of 59 years in 1953 and started a family. He will be remembered as a loving father, paw paw, and old paw paw.
He is survived by his 5 children and their spouses, Milton, Jr (Ione); Michael Wayne (Cindy); Terry; Dennis Bourque (Paula), and Shavonne Martin; 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Agnes and Lance Bourque; loving wife, Betty Jo Bourque; sister, Helen Richard; brothers, Lionel and Lance Bourque, Jr; son in law, Thomas Martin, Sr, and numerous other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM and continuing on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM all at Central Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Rd, Central LA 70818. Burial will immediately follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Baker, LA.
