Patsy Sue (Sutton) Palmer, a resident of Central, Louisiana, passed away on June 11, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on May 16, 1941, Patsy lived a long and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth.
A dedicated professional, she graduated with a master’s in education from LSU and enjoyed a successful career for 50 years as a teacher, principal, Professor at LSU, and retiring as a Curriculum Specialist within the Louisiana Department of Education.
A true Matriarch of her family, Patsy was a loving Mother, and is survived by her son, Chuck Palmer and wife Chawan, and daughter, Darthie Palmer. She was a warm and affectionate Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and is survived by her two grandchildren, Krista Palmer Fowlkes and husband, Matthew Fowlkes and Kyle Palmer and fiancé Sarah Gilliam and four great-grandchildren, Tucker, Wyatt, Everett, and Sohini Fowlkes. She is also survived by her two sisters, Troy Ann Cooper and Yvonne Tomsen and three brothers, Rev. Billy Sutton (Judy), Rev. Bobby Sutton (Darlene), and Rev. Barry Sutton (Donna), all of whom she cherished dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Palmer; parents, Troy and Ruth Sutton and sister, Hazel Toney.
Visitation will be held at Grace Church of Central, 13845 Hooper Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70818, on Saturday, June 20th, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow the religious services at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6213 Groom Road, Baker, LA 70714.
Pallbearers honoring her life include Kyle Palmer, James Moat, Sean Kennedy, Lucas Spicer, Hunter Harrington, and Jason Cooper.
Patsy will be remembered for her love, her laughter, and her indomitable spirit. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
