She was the beloved wife of Gary Guy and the cherished daughter of Charles (C.W.) Cutrer and the late Lora Lanier Cutrer. Roberta’s devotion to her family was unwavering. She was a loving mother to Lori Thompson and her husband Donald Sr., Angela Hathaway and her husband Nicholas, Yancy Hughes and his wife Samantha, Shelly Guy Bischoff, Bobby Guy and his wife Mandy, and Chad Wayne Guy. Her legacy continues through numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
Roberta shared a close bond with her siblings—her brother Charles Cutrer and his wife Debbie, and her sister Orlette Shumaker and her husband Herman. She carried the memory of her grandson Gabriel Casarez Hughes and granddaughter Tori Banks in her heart with enduring love.
A woman of deep Christian faith, Roberta had a strong heart for the Lord. Her spiritual strength guided her throughout life and served as a source of comfort to those around her. Her love for God was evident in the way she cared for others with compassion, kindness, and grace.
Roberta’s greatest joy came from being surrounded by family. She loved them deeply and found purpose in nurturing those closest to her. Her warmth will be remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, 22834 Liberty Rd, Zachary, LA 70791 on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a service to begin at 11:00 AM. burial will follow.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons; Donald Thompson Jr., Dalton Thompson, Daniel Thompson, Joshua Hughes, Joseph Carbo, Brayden Guy, James Hathaway.
