Rodney Martin Tortorich

Rodney Martin Tortorich passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at the age of 86. He was a native and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Rodney enjoyed sports, teaching his sons how to play sports, the great outdoors, and painting. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Rodney is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ina Lee Ganier Tortorich; children, Rodney, Jr. and wife, Diane, Ricky, and Renee Vince and husband, James; grandchildren, Rodney, III, Danielle, Ricky, Jr., Ashley, Amanda, Aimee, Troy, Kevin, Brooke, Matthew and Bailey; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Guillory; and a host of other family members and friends. Rodney is preceded in death by sons, Russ and Rhett; and parents, Martin and Inez Tortorich. Visitation will be held at Central Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Rd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Monday, February 8, 2021, from 10:00AM until the time of funeral services at 12:00PM, officiated by Fr. Jon Koehler. Burial will immediately follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA. Pall bearers will be Rodney and Ricky Tortorich, Bobby Miller, Andre “Buddy” Ganier, Matthew Tortorich and Ricky Tortorich, Jr. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Baton Rouge Health Care Center for their loving care. And a special thanks to his caregivers, Nurse Tanya and Chaplain Lorraine, of Audubon Hospice, for the extra time and care they conveyed making a special trip to the Tortorich residence to make sure Ina Lee was personally informed of his passing.
