Shelley Darlene Browning Kling, lifelong resident of Central, LA passed away on August 29, 2025 at the age of 74. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to multitudes. She was a long-time hairdresser, rodeo secretary, school bus driver (Central Private – Central; Silliman – Clinton), real estate agent and talented country singer. Shelley had a knack for talking with anyone and knowing their relatives, friends or making some kind of connection before the conversation was over. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Shelley is survived by her son, John Kling (Melissa); grandchildren, Jacob, Torre, Jay, Daniel, Tyson, Anna, Leah Kling; brother and sister-in-law, Rusty Browning (Michele); nephew, Brodie Browning and nieces, Sydney Browning, Sherri Watts DeLee. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenny Kling; son, Jim Kling; parents, Sidney and Joyce Bedford Browning; in-laws, Kent and Effie Kling and sister-in-law, Ginger Kling Watts. Pallbearers will be Brodie Browning, Jacob Kling, Jay Kling, Daniel Kling, Rhett Lormand, Dale Cain and Danny Gillen. Ronnie Deville, Wayne Browning, Ronnie Valentine and Kirk Browning will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Tami Tucker, Zelda, Elaine and Jennifer for their loving care. Visitation will be held at Central Funeral Home on Monday, September 1, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, resuming on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 10:00 am until the funeral begins at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Central Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
