Shirley "Ray" Fontenot

Shirley "Ray" Fontenot passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at the age of 77. Ray was a resident of Central, a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a devoted member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He retired from AT&T of Baton Rouge after thirty years of service and was an avid LSU Sports fan. Ray will be forever missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Armille and Lucille Vidrine Fontenot; his daughter, Mindy Reneé Fontenot; his brothers, Irving "John" Fontenot (Darnell), Jimmie Fontenot, and Donald Fontenot (Yvonne); and his sisters, Jeanita Fontenot Joubert (Lionel), and Neva Fontenot Savoy. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mimi Stewart Fontenot; his daughter, Heather Marie Toney (Daniel Lambert); his granddaughter, Kailyn Marie Potts; his sister in laws, Patty Fontenot and Terry Stewart Keen (Perry); and his brother in laws, Ben Savoy and Danny Stewart (Jerri). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, close friends, and his LSU Tailgating family.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, June 11, 2021 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Road, Greenwell Springs, LA 70739, from 9:30 am -11:00 am with a Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 am. Burial is to immediately follow at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church cemetery. Central Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
