Wai Bamugo, 27 years old, beloved husband and father passed away on May 27, 2021. A native of Sudan and resident of Baton Rouge, La. Wai showed a zeal for knowledge. He graduated from Scotlandville Magnet High in 2013 and continued his education where he became an alumni of Southern University & AM class of 2017. He pursued a career in the chemical field working with BASF and then Nutrien as one of their engineers. He loved spending time with family and friends where he made jokes, danced, and sang. In his spare time you could catch him on the soccer field, watching his favorite soccer team Liverpool, playing pool or dancing with his sons. Wai was an intelligent, loving, strong, and confident man. In his final days he quoted, “I am confident that when my eyes close they will open again.”
Wai is survived by his wife, Hailey Lewis Bamugo; his children, Adriel Noel Bamugo, Luka Lurraka Bamugo, and Zahra Nasya Bamugo; his parents Noel Bamugo and Anna John ; his siblings Daniel, Caesar, Kacha Junior, Anthony, Jeriah, Emsa, Malambia, Chema, James, and Maidi Bamugo; along with a host of nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his brothers, Moses Bamugo, Joseph Bamugo, and Isaiah Bamugo.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on June 5, 2021 from 10am-11am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
