Fredrick Henry "Harry" Wulz, 98, of Chehalis, Wash., passed away peacefully Sept. 8, 2012. Harry was born May 22, 1914, to Fredrick Michael Wulz and Mabel Hicks. He was born and lived at his family farm in Chehalis until one day before his death.
Harry attended a one room school at Knox through 8th grade and graduated from Chehalis High School in 1934. He married Edna Mae Anderson on March 27, 1941.
Harry worked at St. John's Ford Garage before starting a dozer logging and land clearing business in 1939. He drove Chehalis School Bus for seven years, and retired in 1980 from Western Farmer's Association after 22 years. In addition to working away from home, he continued operating his farm raising cattle, hay and chickens.
He was a Lewis County 4-H leader for over 25 years and in 2009, Harry was inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame. He also was an Honorary 4-H member and grange member. Trips to the beach for clam digging, working in his woods making firewood, gardening growing pumpkins and spending time with family and friends brought much enjoyment to Harry.
He is survived by his two daughters, Barbara Grega (Steven) of Chehalis and Helen Barbeau (Owen) of Olympia, grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer Grega and Susan Barbeau, nephews, Gene Matthiesen and Ronald Burton.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, sisters, Winnie Wade and Jean Burton.
Harry was much loved by the family and his friends. He will be greatly missed. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to his caregivers for their love and care allowing him to live at home.
Viewing will be Friday, Sept. 14, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Sticklin Funeral Chapel in Centralia. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at Mt. View Cemetery in Centralia. A luncheon will follow the service at The Grega's, 149 Vista Rd., Chehalis,Wash.
