Martin James Willoughby

Martin James Willoughby, age 68 of Spanaway, WA was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 24, 2022. He was born December 26, 1953, in Tacoma, WA to Freda and Willy (Laurice) Willoughby.

Martin attended Washington High School and was in the first graduating class in 1972. He served with pride in the United States Navy from 1973 until 1978. He lived in Spanaway with his beloved cats and was a guardian angel to all animals.

Martin loved life and thoroughly enjoyed the sacredness of his family and friends. He was inspiring in his patience, perseverance, and unselfishness. He was always available to lend a helping hand with a warm gentle smile and a listening heart for those in need. He opened his home many times to those that needed a place to stay.

Martin would not allow any illness to restrict his determination of living life. His interests and hobbies were photography, cigars, and vehicles.

Martin is survived by his sisters Elaine Higgins (Frank), Sandi Ryder (RJ), brother Larry Willoughby, nephews Dustin Willoughby and Richard Higgins (Tiffany) and his niece Sarah Stephens (Marcus). His niece Melissa Cline welcomed him into heaven along with his parents Freda and Willy.
