Ruth Ann Lascurain
December 19, 1953 – October 31, 2019
Ruth Ann Lascurain, 65, loving wife, sister, daughter, mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 31st, 2019, at her Cinebar, Wash., home. Ruth was born December 19, 1953, in Anthony, Kansas. She was the oldest of four children born to Sam and Jennie (Sample) Hill. The majority of her youth was spent in California, where her mother remembered Ruth as a free-spirited young woman.
On July 20th, 1978, she married Charles Lascurain and the couple settled in Washington State. Ruth worked a number of jobs while raising her three children, working as a caregiver to the elderly, a store clerk, and a receptionist. She and Charles settled in Cinebar, Wash., in 1982, and started a small family farm known as the Last Crane Farm. She loved spending time in her garden, with her animals on the farm, and planning the next project. After the chores were done, she kept busy with her crafts and canning goods in abundance.
Ruth primary focus was her grandchildren, both near and far, who she loved greatly. She delighted in having her grandchildren around and seeing them enjoy the farm that she loved and called home. Her family will remember her as a strong woman with a kind heart, who would just as easily call you out when you got out of line as give you a hug because she knew you needed one. Her legacy will be the hand-crafted baskets, soaps, textiles, canned goods, and other crafts that she loved to make that we will hold dear the rest of our lives.
She was preceded in death by her father Sam; mother-in-law Connie; and father-in-law Julian.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Charles; children, August, Seth, and Julie; step-son Mark; mother, Jennie; siblings Patsy, Lisa, and Sam II; grandchildren, Stasha, Meech, Malachi, Iris, Miller, Reyna, Logan, and Evelyn.
Ruth's immediate family will be paying their respects privately. A celebration of life will be held in the spring or summer of 2020.
