Elaine was born in Chehalis, WA, Aug 15, 1946 to Bill and Thora Charneski. She passed away June 10, 2018 due to a massive heart attack and did not suffer.
She is survived by her only child, a daughter Susan Nichols.
She was preceded in death by her parents William Harrison Charneski, Thora Marie Charneski and brother William Charneski Jr.
Elaine lived in Pe Ell, WA until about 8 or 9 yrs. of age, and then moved with her family to Raymond, WA; where she was raised. She graduated from Raymond High School in 1966.
She was married to Dale Nichols (now deceased). They divorced when Susie was about 2 yrs. She then was married a 2nd time briefly, and then married Robert Presnell (now deceased) in the 1970's.
She lived most of her life in Washington, although she lived in Alaska and Oklahoma for a short time. Washington was her favorite place to live.
Elaine had many jobs in her life from working in the seafood canneries, waitressing, packing fruit in Eastern Washington, driving semi, worked for an airline, and she also sold Watkin Products for many years. Her highlight was graduating Nursing School on her 52nd birthday. She worked in nursing homes and especially loved working with the Alzheimer patients. She was also active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary years ago, always helping anyone she could in many ways.
After retirement she enjoyed her friends, playing bingo and going to the casino. She loved to cook, especially for her family friends. She loved taking road trips with her daughter. She was an avid reader and loved to crochet, she was passionate about crocheting hats and scarfs for the homeless and cancer patients, and she even sent them as far as England. She loved coloring in the adult coloring books she must have had over 30 books she was working on. She also worked with ceramics for a time.
She recently gave her heart to the Lord and was enjoying going to church and getting to know the people. She said "We are going to church because if I want to go to heaven I have to start somewhere"
She was very witty and fun loving lady and left an impression on everyone she met. Her soul was kind and she will live in our hearts forever.
A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 30th at 11am at Jackson Prairie Assembly of God Church, 4224 Jackson Hwy, Chehalis, WA (Mary’s Corner). A luncheon will follow the service.
