Allen Wayne Mitchell came into this world tiny and frail, but was a fighter. He lived his life like an adventure so at the age of 17, he enlisted in the Army and served our country for 9 years. He was involved in Operation Desert Shield and went to 2 wars; 1990-1991 Gulf War and 1991-1991- Desert Storm.
He then came home and built a life, made a family, and moved all over the country. Finally settling in North Carolina where he made his home for the last 14 years. He took up gardening, fishing, and hunting. He loved Alabama football and nascar racing. He truly loved spending time with all his friends and family.
There is a lot you can say about Allen. He loved his life, loved to travel, he loved sailing, flying planes, and having a good conversation. He had more heart than he had height. Everyone he met was a fast and forever friend. He left this world way too soon. He will be dearly, dearly missed by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Brian Mitchell, Charles Mitchell, David Mitchell, Payton Smith, Josh Smith, and Joseph Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are Dylan Smith and Michael Thomas.
