Barbara Lanelle "Nell" Calloway

Nell was born in Bibb County and lived her entire life in Alabama. She attended nursing school in Birmingham at what is now the Ida V. Moffitt School of Nursing. Following her husband, she worked at numerous hospitals throughout Alabama, eventually retiring from the Vaughn Regional Medical Center in Selma, Alabama.

She was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her family ahead of her own desires. Mrs. Calloway was proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, Edgar Lamar Calloway Sr. She is survived by her only son, Edgar Lamar Calloway Jr.

A celebration of Mrs. Calloway’s life will be held at 2:00 pm. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Rockco Funeral Home in Centreville.
