Brayden Kornegay

Brayden’s life reflected stead love, care and a deep regard for others. With a kind heart and a generous spirit, he carried himself with loyalty and care, offering what he could and standing faithfully beside those who depended on him. Grounded in his Christian faith, he met life with a selfless concern for people and a sincere desire to do what was right.

In 2025, Brayden completed lineman school, a milestone that spoke to his determination and willingness to take on demanding work with focus and purpose.

Brayden also served with the 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, Alpha Company, 3rd Platoon, 3rd Squad, where he held the rank of Corporal. His service reflected the same steadfast character that marked his life—bravery tempered by compassion, and commitment strengthened by loyalty.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Oak Mountain State Park Staff, The Lovelady Center, and his U.S. Marine Corp family for their support and care.

Brayden is preceded in death by his grandfather, Lawrence Kornegay; and grandmother, Cynthia Bruner.

He is survived by his mother, Lana Bruner; father, Robert Keith Kornegay; stepfather, Michael Sartain (Michelle); sisters, Kaelyn Martin (Andrew) and Marissa Grogan (Homer); brothers, Chase Kornegay and Lawrence A. Kornegay; stepsisters, Daisy Strange and Erica Cole; stepbrother, Deuce Scott

A visitation for Brayden will be Friday, July 24, 2026 at Rockco Funeral Home in Centreville, AL from 10am - 11am with funeral service starting at 11am. Burial will follow at Haysop Baptist Church Cemetery.
